Garden Fountain
Flowing Water, Resting Peace: A Garden Fountain for Serenity:
Few things are more restful or beautiful than a garden fountain. The sound of running water creates a pleasing background sound that is sure to calm even the most stressed out and frazzled nerves. Additionally, the moving water has the added advantage of not providing a breeding ground for mosquito larvae.
There are many garden fountain models that come complete, ready to be installed. The best garden fountain models will be operated by a rechargeable battery, with options for recharging using either a small solar panel or a regular extension cord or wall outlet. Of course, this only applies to a stand-alone garden fountain; some are designed to be part of a pre-existing pond, and those have entirely different issues to worry about. But this article will focus on the standalone fountain.
If you prefer, you can buy the different parts of your garden fountain and assemble them yourself. But unless you absolutely hate every preassembled fountain you can find, or you are a chronic do-it-yourselfer, this course of action is not recommended. The preassembled ones are quite lovely, and they are also easy to install. Having to wrestle with fitting Part E into Groove Y does nothing for one's serenity.
Placing your garden fountain is going to be one of the most important parts of installing it. The fountain should be somewhere where you can both see it and hear it when relaxing outside. Placing it in a shaded area will cut down on water loss due to evaporation. Naturally, of course, there will be some limitations; solar-powered fountains with a built-in solar panel, rather than a freestanding one, will have to be put in the sun.
Above all, the fountain should be where you can enjoy it. Place comfortable seating nearby to allow a chance to relax and enjoy the sound of splashing water. Use citronella candles to create an invigorating atmosphere and to keep mosquitoes at bay. And above all, take time to simply sit and listen to the fountain. Life is better when you take a break from it.
